This product will stabilize pool chlorine and help prevent chlorine loss due to the effect of sunlight. Backwash or clean the filter before adding this product to the pool. Maintain the pH of pool water between 7.2 and 7.8.
This product is used to raise calcium hardness in swimming pool water. Low calcium hardness causes pool water to be corrosive and may result in staining, etching or distorting of the pool’s finish. Plaster etched by low calcium hardness will become abrasive and uncomfortable for swimmers. Rough plaster increases algae problems and makes cleaning more difficult.
This product raises total alkalinity in swimming pool water. Low total alkalinity may cause pool water to be corrosive to metal and plaster and may result in staining, etching or distorting of all types of pool surfaces. Proper alkalinity helps to prevent these problems and also eliminates “pH bounce” by buffering the water against large pH changes. Total alkalinity in pool water should be maintained in the range of 80-120 for vinyl liner pools, and 125-150 for other types of pools.
This product is a granular chemical designed to slowly lower the pH of swimming pool water. It is safer to handle than liquid acids such as muriatic (hydrochloric) or sulfuric.
This product is used to raise the pH of pool water. pH should be maintained at 7.2 to 7.8 for optimum chlorine activity and best water quality. The ideal pH for vinyl liner pools is 7.6. Proper pH control is one of the most important factors of pool maintaince. An accurate test kit should be used to measure pH.
